There isn’t a set formula for what kind of experiences one should have on their travels through Asia. Who said an urban getaway has to be chaotic and non-stop? Or that a tropical beach holiday has to just be about baking on the sand 24/7.

Here's how you can redefine your travels anywhere you decide to go:

Goa

Sitting on the western coast of India opening up to the Arabian Sea, Goa is a tropical paradise with an eclectic history and culture. Though the city is popular for its dazzling coastline of beaches, delicious seafood, colorful fishing communities and charming villages, Goa is also known for its vibrant nightlife scene.

And it's no surprise that this was the perfect destination for W Hotels to launch their very first property in India! The brand new W Goa features breathtaking beachside views creating the perfect backdrop for daytime beach lounging or cocktails at sunset.  Like all W Hotels, W Goa will showcase its modern-chic design, but the local Goan inspirations are not to be missed - from the custom furniture and decor to the pan-Asian flavors being served up all day long. Launching November 1!

And with its ideal location right on Vagator beach – it's just a short hike to Chapora Fort for spectacular views of the city and sea, lined with local fishermen pulling in bulging nets full of the day’s catch – guests will feel the very essence of life in Goa.

Maldives

Those who seek a more exclusive tropical holiday can travel further south to The Maldives. This South Asian country, which is made up of 1,192 islands, is synonymous with luxury and decadence – the crème-de-la-crème of beach holidays, as some would say.

Besides the pristine beaches and crystal blue water and sky, there are so many things for people to do at this heavenly paradise – sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, windsurfing, surfing, parasailing, sea kayaking, jet skiing or even charter a yacht to explore other islands or take a sunset cruise.

And if the Maldives wasn't exclusive enough the St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort opens its doors on November 1, taking luxurious private voyaging to the next level!  Nestled on its own private island, the property features exquisitely designed private villas adding an injection of modern architecture in the midst of its tropical surroundings! And the interiors are not to be overlooked as the St.Regis Maldives offers contemporary decor, bright color themes and seamless layouts leading you straight to the beach or your private pool!

Pushkar

But if you’re looking for a different type of serenity – more along the spiritual lines – the holy town of Pushkar is the place to visit. The city is famous for its Pushkar Lake, which is located in the center of the city and surrounded by 52 different ghats and temples; you can even watch people who traveled to this site bath in the ghats that surround the lake. As it is not very large, the best way to experience Pushkar is by foot.

Travelers can embark on a walking tour of the town to see the many temples, such as the Brahma Temple. No matter where you are in Pushkar you can hear the daily chanting ceremonies that are conducted at the temple very early in the mornings and after sunset. You can also climb up the steps of the Savitri Temple where you will find a breathtaking view of the lake and the city; this view is truly magical at sunrise.

With so much to explore in Pushkar, having central accommodations to all of these attractions and areas is key so you can take time to rest and replenish your energy throughout the day. The Westin Pushkar Resort & Spa in the Aravalli Hills, which just opened earlier this month, offers travelers a serene place to unwind. The hotel also features Westin's signature Heavenly Spa, where you can pamper yourself with that perfect massage or spa treatment!

Jakarta

On the opposite end of the spectrum is the bustling city of Jakarta, the largest city and capital of Indonesia. Though known for notoriously bad traffic and chaotic streets, Jakarta is full of rich history and colorful culture to explore, with a variety of areas that offer exciting nightlife and vibrant shopping.

Travelers can visit Pasar Baru, an area that dates back to the Dutch colonial era, see the world’s last wind-powered trading schooners at the beautiful 17th century port Sunda Kelapa and check out some local Javanese and Southeast Asian treasures at the National Museum of Indonesia.

And when the city gets too overwhelming and you need a quiet place to decompress from the city, there is the newly opened Westin Jakarta. Located in South Jakarta, part of the city’s business district that is teeming with restaurants, bars and nightlife, the Westin offers a calming oasis amongst all the buzzing energy of the city.

Tokyo

Though similar in crowdedness, Tokyo offers a type of organized chaos with pockets of serenity and calmness tucked away around the city.

The perfect example of such is The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho, which opened this past summer. Despite its close proximity to the bustling metropolis that is Tokyo, Kioicho is a charming town that is embraced in luscious greenery and a rich history that intertwines Japanese traditions and Western culture.

Roughly 5 kilometers from Tokyo, guests can still comfortably enjoy the incredible city of Tokyo. They can visit the historic Japan Imperial Palace, take in the breathtaking beauty of Chidorigafuchi, have fun in quirky Harajuku and explore the colorful Roppongi. But after a day full of activity and excitement, travelers can look forward to relaxing at The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho.

So no matter where you travel to in Asia, whether it’s a buzzing metropolis or a super exclusive resort on your own private island, there are always new adventures to be had and new experiences and memories to be made!
