We had the honor of ballin’ out at the luxurious St. Regis Bali Resort in Nusa Dua, Bali. This is the place where once-in-a-lifetime dream vacays become a reality, where boyfriends earn MEGA brownie points and Instagrammers step up their game.
This is our guide on how to spend the best 24 hours of your life:
LAND IN BALI: GETTING SPOILED WITH VIP AIRPORT TREATMENT
We touch down at Denpasar Airport, take two steps off the plane and see a man with a sign…its got our names on it! He greets us like we’re royalty, grabs our bags and escorts us as we breeze through the fast track immigration line – we love this guy.
And no VIP treatment would be the same without a comfortable ride – we got to kick our legs up, sit back and just enjoy the ride.
THOSE FIRST PRECIOUS MOMENTS: A PERFECT MIX OF HAPPINESS, EXCITEMENT AND COMPLETE BLISS
As you drive through the gates of the St. Regis Bali and down the rainforest driveway, you feel something grand, something elegant and something definitely out of your income bracket. Stepping out of the van and into the lobby you can almost imagine doves being released.
Cue the Balinese traditional music – yes there were actual musicians performing a welcome song to set the mood. Taking it all in, you realize that no detail was overlooked, unlike those emails you send out on late Friday afternoons.
THE DECKED OUT CRIB: QUITE THE UPGRADE FROM YOUR STUDIO APARTMENT
First off, the room is HUGE (90+ square meters) – the kind of bedroom you see in magazines and hope to have one day. Well we got to enjoy it for two nights! There’s just something magical about walking into a room with classical music playing in the background, personalised welcome notes laid on the table and bed and a fresh fruit basket!

And stepping out onto to the balcony puts you right in the middle of all that Bali’s beautiful landscape has to offer. Man, why do we ever have to leave?
THE BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS: AMAZING BREAKFAST SPREAD AT BONEKA RESTAURANT
Lobster omelets. Foie gras. Steak. Sashimi. Oysters – all of it in ONE meal. This isn’t your typical continental breakfast, it’s essentially your last five anniversary meals all in one sitting.
And let’s not forget the amazing traditional Balinese dishes made-to-order, which are actually different every morning – time to get our Nasi Liwet, Nasi Lemak and Nasi Kuning on! And don’t worry, this buffet still has all of your classic breakfast foods with fresh fruit, eggs any way, and a wide array of baked goods and hot dishes.
WATER WORKS: THE PRIVATE BEACH AND SALTWATER POOLS
Lounging on the St. Regis Bali private beach really makes you feel like life can’t get any better! Just a one minute walk from the resort with beautiful blue waters, miles of freshly raked white sands and NO crowds!
And if you’d rather get out there and be adventurous, there are plenty of water sports available, too.

Even if this place didn’t have their beach, the pools are just as stunning and relaxing! From the swim-up wet bar to the ample private cabanas, this is what you call a high-end pool life!
LAZY LUNCHEON – ELEGANT DISPLAY OF COMFORT FOODS AT GOURMAND DELI
Sometimes you just need to keep it real and eat a burger…with bacon…cheese and a perfectly constructed tower of thick cut fries. All whilst becoming one with nature in one of the nicest outdoor patios we’ve ever dined in complete with your own forest and pond.
TIME TO UNWIND: GETTING PAMPERED AT REMEDE SPA
So after a “strenuous” morning, it was definitely time for a 60-minute massage. The Remede Spa is tranquil, serene, ethereal, rejuvenating, calming – we didn’t know what word to pick so we just used them all. The masseuses provided such a soothing experience, loosening our muscles and we passed out in no time!
THE SAD SEND OFF: SAYING GOODBYE TO SOME DEAR FRIENDS
Before the sun went down, we were invited to do something pretty cool. We got to be all National Geographic and released baby turtles back into the ocean.
It’s sad that a lot of these little guys never even make into the ocean once they’re hatched, but the St. Regis is doing its part in helping sea turtle conservation by having and maintaining its own hatchery on site. Besides who’s going to protect NYC and our sewers?
BRINGIN’ THE HEAT: AN IN-YOUR-FACE TRADITIONAL BALINESE FIRE SHOW
We stayed close, but not too close because we love our eyebrows too much.
The show started with a dope drum beat and then the real show began with a group of brave men donning traditional Indonesian garb, swinging balls of fires – no biggie . With the sun setting the fire show was a perfect start to the night.
DINNER OPTION #1: LOCAL FEAST FOR A KING IN A BALINESE HUT AT DULANG
Even though we knew we were in Bali, this place really makes your feel like you are IN Bali. The best part is not knowing what to expect but getting a crash course of the culture, history and gastronomy of Balinese cuisine. There’s really only one way to take it all in and that’s trying over 20 different appetizers, soups, dishes, desserts and drinks! And that’s what we did.
DINNER OPTION #2: KEEP THAT PINKY FINGER RAISED DURING THIS DEGUSTATION MENU AT KAYUPUTI
Don’t worry, we also didn’t know what degustation meant so we went to trusty Wikipedia for some help.
Dégustation is a culinary term meaning a careful, appreciative tasting of various foods and focusing on the gustatory system, the senses, high culinary art and good company. Dégustation is more likely to involve sampling small portions of all of a chef’s signature dishes in one sitting.
Just stepping into Kayuputi, your heart starts beating and your mouth starts to salivate. The restaurant is Bali-chic and contemporary, and we enjoyed al fresco dining – we sat outside in a beachside booth and it was magical.
What happened next, I think our stomachs are still in shock. Course after course, we ate what can only be described as edible art masterpieces. We had A LOT of first times during this meal – stuffed octopus topped with popcorn and corn sauce, duck carpaccio, duck dumplings and foie gras and scallops with something called a pumpkin twill and vanilla bean foam – we didn’t know foam beyond our lattes!
TIME TO SAY GOODBYE – BIDDING THE ST. REGIS BALI A BITTER SWEET ADIEU
We did a final walk around the St. Regis, taking in as much as we could before our driver sent us off. Exiting the property is just as beautiful as entering and we’ll never forget how it felt to live the highlife for those one and a half days!
We’re your fellow adventure-seekers, foodies and trendsetters who have been bitten by the travel bug. From the first time we set foot on Thailand’s beaches and partied till dawn in Hong Kong, we decided to dedicate ourselves to searching and sharing the best travel ideas across Asia. We enjoy a good conversation and love it even more when it’s about a hole-in-the-wall food joint you stumbled upon during your last trip. So reach out and let’s chat!
