It’s not quite pumpkin spice latte season in Taipei just yet but here are some definitely autumnal events for you to check out this October.

October 6 - 7 | Nuit Blanche

Celebrating its second year, Nuit Blanche Taipei is an annual all-night/night-time arts festival spanning 12 hours from 6pm onward. The event invites the public to “explore new aspects and depths of the city by making urban spaces and contemporary art accessible to the audience.” Last year’s Nuit Blanche saw interactive installations, art projections, performances transform the city into a giant art gallery as performers and artwork blended into the urban landscape of narrow alleys and open spaces. It’s free for all so you definitely don’t want to miss this!

October 9 | Snail Mail Live in Taipei

Indie rock lovers unite! 18 year old singer-songwriter Lindsey Jordan and her band - Snail Mail - is coming to Taipei to promote their studio album Lush, released just this past June. Their sound is reminiscent of the 90’s, heavily influenced by Sonic Youth, The Cranberries, Velvet Underground, and Fiona Apple. Come check her out at The Wall. More info here.

October 12 - 14 | Taipei Fashion Week

It’s that time of the year again - it’s time for Vogue’s annual Fashion Night Out! To kick off, there will be an international fashion summit forum (free registration) which will feature a panel of international influencers who will share their thoughts on the best ways to “self-promote” using today’s technology, social media, e-commerce, and the online community. There will also be a fashion show to showcase local designers and their latest creations for autumn and winter fashion. It will be a fashion feast for both the eyes and the ears! October 26 - 28 | Taipei Jazz Festival

Held over three days at Daan Park, featuring jazz musicians from more than eight countries, with a total of more than 12 jazz sets, the final event to cap off the Taipei Jazz Festival invites you (at no cost) to come enjoy jazz of any and all flavors. If you can’t make it to Daan Park, there is also another open air jazz performance you can catch if you live closer to Tienmu. Grab a blanket and find a spot on the grass for an evening of jazz!

October 18 | Mariah Carey Live in Taipei

The diva herself will be live at the Linkou Stadium. Come hear her all time hits from “We Belong Together” to “Always Be My Baby” and even her holiday jams. Tickets are already on sale and are going fast! More info here.

October 21 | 2018 Pink Run

During the month of October, Marie Claire will be hosting a Pink Run to raise money for breast cancer awareness. Sign up with your buddies to do a 5K, 10K, or a 21K and for every one that signs up, Marie Claire will donate 50NT to the Taiwan Clinical Oncology Research Foundation for cancer research. See you at the Xingfu Shuiyang Park.

October 27 | Resurrected Halloween Party at Tiger Mountain

If you’re thinking of dressing up for Halloween, then definitely stop by Tiger Mountain for a night of music by live deejays with fellow costume-wearers. With over ten DJs, it will be a long and unforgettable night of music and dancing. Grab your friends and be sure to dress up - there will be cash prizes for best group costumes (10,000nt) and individual costumes!

October 27 | The Fratellis Live in Taipei

Hailing from Glasgow, The Fratellis are here in Taiwan for the first time. Known for their brashly melodic indie vocals, the band will be here promoting their latest studio album, In Your Own Sweet Time. Come check out the witty trio and be guaranteed a good time.

Until October 28 | Asahi SUPER DRY x 貓下去 Pop-up Beer Bar

For the foodie and beer lovers - there is much to be excited about this month. After stopping in New York City and Seoul, the Asahi SUPER DRY pop-up beer station is coming to Taipei! Asahi Beer is collaborating with 貓下去 and putting out some signature dishes (their famous fried chicken and cold sesame noodles) to pair with the beer for this flash event. Stop by any time in the next two months to experience this pop-up gastronomy.
