April 12 | Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams Tour
Say what you will about them, but Coldplay’s longevity is one attribute that eludes so many contemporary acts. First formed in 1996, the band has long honed the craft of putting on a spectacular live show. This latest show is no different. Critics have lauded A Head Full of Dreams, with The Independent describing it as “colorful show” brimming with “poignant tributes and a healthy injection of early material.” If you’re keen to hear everything from “Yellow” to “Adventure of a Lifetime”, don’t miss this chance. Young Art Taipei acts as a prop for young artists by showcasing their talents in a professional setting which attracts both buyers and art lovers. This year, more than 350 Asian and Western contemporary artists under the age of 45 will have their works displayed at the booths of around 60 galleries. If appreciating “young, affordable, refreshing and promising” artworks sounds like an afternoon well spent, make your way to the Sheraton Grand Hotel this April 14 to 16. April 22 | Vogue Style Picnic Day
Considered to be the bible to millions of fashionistas around the world, Vogue is a name synonymous with style and luxury. While the lifestyle glamourized in its pages is unattainable to most, Vogue throws a number of annual events, such as the Style Picnic Day, which give us mere mortals a glimpse of it. Held in fashion capitals such as New York, Paris, and Sydney, Taipei’s chapter of Style Picnic Day will be located at Huashan Creative Park. Just grab a couple of friends, prep a basket full of treats, and dress in your best “boho chic” – you’ll be all set to make your Vogue debut.Quota exceeded
April 15-16 | 2017 Urban Nomad Opening Freakout 2-day Festival
Urban Nomad has really upped their game this year by promising not one, but two days of non-stop music, booze, and performances. 2017’s Freakout boasts 30 bands and DJs which the organizers describe as “the result of 15 years of mining talent from Fuji Rock and the Tokyo underground, as well as befriending Taiwan’s best and freakiest musical acts.” If that hasn’t enticed you enough, the all-ages event will once again be held at what must be Taipei’s most unique place to hold an outdoor festival, Tiger Mountain. Hey! My name is Monica and I’m a Taipei-a-holic. Originally from Sydney, I packed up everything to move here to study Mandarin. Well, at least that’s my cover because most times you’ll catch me stuffing myself with mouth-watering foods or exploring unique sights. I’m so thrilled to be able to share all the places which have had impacted my heart (and stomach!) with you. Cheers!
